Coffee & Spice. Celebrate Nice!
Do you find that you crave certain flavors during different seasons?
I mean pumpkin latte’s are a real thing. Every year during the fall and winter months I find myself adding a dash of nutmeg, allspice and clove to seasonal soups and meals.
It is an authentic craving I have perhaps because it invokes fond memories of winter storms and fireplaces. What is your favorite seasonal spice? The lure of the coffee shop peppermint mocha lattes draws me in. But I always end up going for my favorite. Cinnamon. I actually add warm frothy milk to my coffee and top it off with a dash of cinnamon.
In all things I try to keep my commitment to making healthy choices at the forefront. And these sweet treats have the ability to use up all of your carbohydrate intake for the day. Adding a dash of cinnamon and cocoa tie in the flavors of the season without adding additional calories. I mean who wants to drink their calories first thing in the morning - right? Plus did you know that Cinnamon has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties? Add in that extra dash of Cocoa Powder and not only are you in for a tasty treat but you are aiding your immune system.
